Givers Get

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

As many of you are aware Mark Victor Hansen is one of my favorite writers when it comes to the topic of success.  He does not limit his discussions to financial independence; rather, he believes success manifests itself in many

forms.  One of the concepts presented in his book The One Minute Millionaire is the belief that “givers get”.  Essentially, Mr. Hansen claims that rewards quite often present themselves as a direct result of a person’s selflessness.  I have read accounts and been personal witness to people living out this belief on numerous occasions.

My own belief in Mr. Hansen’s assertion has caused me to share my Isagenix success story with others, and my wife Tamara feels the same way.  Even if we had never experienced the amazing financial success we have had through our association with Isagenix international, we still would have felt a burning desire to share with others the incredible health benefits of this nutritional cleansing and replenishing program.  We feel so strongly about the life changing potential of Isagenix products that We feel the reward comes from the opportunity to change someones life for the better.  For some, the idea of simply offering support and information to others does not seem like much of a personal reward, but just like watching your child open a special gift on Christmas morning, realizing that you could be offering someone the gift of a better, healthier life is a truly incredible feeling.

William "The Refrigerator" Perry

So how does this whole “givers get” idea work?  I offer two recent examples.  In 2007 Superbowl veteran William “The Refrigerator” Perry, formerly of the Chicago Bears, put his Superbowl ring up for auction.  Shortly thereafter Mr. Perry was stricken with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a disease that can cause paralysis.  In 2011 a 10-year old boy heard about Mr. Perry’s ordeal and happened upon what he believed to be Mr. Perry’s ring.  With the permission of his parent’s, the 10-year old took $8500.00 of his college fund and purchased the ring.  He then made arrangements to meet Mr. Perry and return the ring.  It was truly an act of a “giver” that will surely be rewarded in the long run.  Mr. Perry was extremely appreciative and gave the boy two signed jersey’s and several signed football cards.

This past sunday the pastor at my church told the story of his trip to a restaurant with his family.  He has several children which means that every outing to eat costs a fair amount of money.  On this particular venture he went to pay his bill and was told that the cashier had paid for his families meal.  Dumbfounded, he approached the young cashier who obviously made little money and told her he would not allow her to offer such a generous gift.  The cashier responded that she had been saving her money for some time so she could commit herself to this unselfish act, and that he had no right to deny her the pleasure of it.  As I have in the past when witnessing similar acts, if I had been present for this event I would have tried to do something special for this girldraft lens8781511module77306681photo 1262630011cashier Givers Get in return.  I would venture a guess that most people would if given the opportunity.

I guess that  is why it is so easy for me to talk about Isagenix with people.  I see the change that the products have made in my life, and the life of my family and want to share it with anyone who will listen.  If you would like to find out more about our Isagenix success stories, whether your desire is to lose weight, improve your health and wellness, or experience financial success, then you can visit our web-site at, or you can call Tamara toll free at 1-866-982-DIET (3438).

Being “Rich” With Isagenix and Nutritional Cleansing

Monday, May 30th, 2011
I quite often find myself being inspired with our Isagenix business by the sermons we hear at our church every Sunday.  As a matter of fact, this seems to be happening more and more frequently where the sermon seems to

Isagenix International

somehow tie in  with our health and wellness business.  There are times that I feel the sermon is speaking directly to me to the exclusion of everyone else in the room.  This obviously is not the case; however, it demonstrates how personal these messages can become to individual listeners.

Many people reject the events of their lives as being coincidence and happenstance.  I disagree with this assumption and believe with all of my heart that literally everything happens for a reason.  To take this belief one step further, I assume that everyone I meet is inserted into my life for some purpose of significance, and that I am supposed to glean something from the encounter.  This is why I have no fear when it comes to talking to complete strangers about topics I have passion for.  This has been of great assistance to me in speaking with people about the nutritional cleansing and replenishing system available through Isagenix International.  Accepting the fact that everyone I meet is meant to teach me something, the words of my pastor, and the fact that he spoke them to me is important, and worthy of thoughtful analysis.
Today’s sermon was about “being” rich (not “getting” rich).  This may sound strange to many of you who are struggling through the tough financial times we find ourselves in.  It seems odd that he would give a sermon with the premise that virtually everyone in the room was “rich”.  Yet my pastor was being accurate.  The vast majority of Americans are wildly rich when compared to the rest of the world.  The truth of the matter is 50% of our planet lives on $2.00 in wages per day.  I do not make this statement to make anyone feel guilty.  To the contrary, I believe there are legitimate reasons for us to have been blessed with such great abundance.  Unhappiness for many comes from the failure to recognize just how much we as a country have been blessed.  Acting with the belief that we just don’t have enough has a tendency to make anyone unhappy.  I, on the other hand wake up every morning believing I am a very rich man.

ResidualIncomeGraph1 Being Rich With Isagenix and Nutritional Cleansing

Residual Income

I have some very nice things…things I never thought I would have, and most of the time I believe I don’t deserve.  I sometimes question the origin of my blessings.  I don’t mean who gave them to me…I know the answer to that.  I do, however, question the means by which he gave them to me.  In the end the answer is always the same.  I have fantastic

health and a steady means of residual income by which to enjoy it because of my association with Isagenix International.  The residual income we receive from this part-time job has blessed us beyond what we ever would have expected when we first started down the road of network marketing, or MLM.

I would never apologize for our success, because I would not have the things I do  if they were not conferred upon me.  But as Spiderman’s uncle once said, “with great power comes great responsibility”.  When referring to my success I remember an episode of Seinfeld where they repeated the line, “not that there is anything wrong with it”.  I don’t believe there is anything wrong with being successful in life as long as you are responsible with that success.
One of my heroes in life is Mark Victor Hansen.  Mark Hansen has written several books on wealth-building

and success.  He is also the co-author of the book Chicken Soup for the Soul.  Mr. Hansen asserts that we should seek enlightened wealth.  Essentially we should be the conduits of our blessings and not the repositories for them.  He also believes that givers get.  In the end, we as a nation must accept the fact that we are truly “rich”.  There is no doubt that there are degrees of being “rich”, and our interpretation of this word is often viewed from a sliding scale.  But when you accept just how blessed you are, you open up your heart to sharing these blessings.  Network marketing and Isagenix has been a means to an end for fulfilling that desire with my family.

If you would like to discuss how network marketing may help you to realize this goal as well, you can visit our web-site at, or you can call us toll free at 1-866-982-DIET (3438).

Making a Decision for Positive Change

Charlie Sheen1 Making a Decision for Positive Change

Charlie Sheen

I have been following the saga of Charlie Sheen, the star of the wildly successful television show Two and a Half Men, and his battle with CBS.  It is difficult to watch people self-destruct right in front of your eyes.  I think it can be especially difficult for you when you sit squarely in the national spotlight like Mr. Sheen, Lindsey Lohan or Amy Winehouse.  There is no escape and everyone gets to see you fail over and over again.  After years of being told that you are perfect, respected and adored it is hard to admit that you are none of these things.  It can be even harder to admit that you literally have to change who you are in order to survive.  It is much easier to believe you can “make” people accept the life you have chosen.

I have some experience with addictive personalities based upon my primary profession as a law enforcement officer.  I have learned that the hardest step in walking away from destruction is admitting that you have a problem.  Until you are able to do a cost benefit analysis of your life and determined that you will lose more by maintaining the status quo than by committing yourself to some kind of change, a destructive path may seem acceptable…even normal.  Even when the decision is

Obesity 1 Making a Decision for Positive Change

Obesity in America

made to change your life most people seek out a path to least resistance in order to accomplish this end.  Those of you who read this blog on a consistent basis know the title of my favorite and most inspiring book.  This book makes it clear that the road less traveled may be the most difficult initially.  In the end, however, choosing this path above all others can reap rewards that you never realize existed.

I have taken a rather circuitous path to get to my ultimate point as it relates to Nutritional Cleansing.  I would argue, however, that it was worth your wait.  There are many addictions such as alcoholism and drug that can slowly chip away at a person’s happiness, health and peace of mind.  Most of them are open for discussion and are obvious to our family, friends and associations.  Often these addictions are ignored because no one likes conflict…no one likes to be the bad guy to tell you that you have a problem.  I will be the bad guy here and tell you that if you are engaged in a lifestyle that is resulting in obesity and its associated weight-related health conditions then you have a problem and you better do something about it sooner than later.  As I have stated in the past, many of us have become quite accepting of you overweight and obese people.  The reason is simple…you are in the majority.  Statistically, you outnumber the people that fall into the range of what is considered to be a “normal” and healthy weight.  You, in fact, have become the norm.  Your addiction is no longer considered a “problem”.  We get yelled at and confronted if we say being overweight is unattractive, unhealthy and a poor example to our family and friends.

What if instead of an addiction to food, our nation was addicted to Cocaine or Meth?  Would we continue to hesitate to point out the elephant in the room or would we all be screaming from the rooftops that something needed to be done?  I’m screaming!!  There are many solutions to the various addictions including food addictions.  I liken them to the various fitness routines.  If I told you that the only resolution to your weight problem was by jogging many of you would throw up your hands and simply say, “I guess I am meant to die at an early age  overweight and  unhealthy”.  I would be right there with you as I would rather have a long slow root canal than run five miles.  I believe that fitness in the gym comes down to finding the routine which appeals to you and motivates you as an individual.  Maybe it is aerobics, maybe it is spinning or maybe it is 183995 1619961700757 1287852844 31620473 4682297 n Making a Decision for Positive Changeweight training.  Maybe it is a combination of all three.  Regardless you can’t go on your first run and decide that exercise and fitness just isn’t for you.

The same can be said for choosing a health and wellness program.  Nutritional Cleansing and Replenishing is not for everyone.  I have had my fair share of people tell me that they just couldn’t do it.  I take exception to the “couldn’t” part as I believe that human beings are capable of doing literally anything they set their minds to.  I tell my kids this every day and I believe it is starting to set in.  All I have to do is look at my daughter on the podium at her national archery tournament this weekend to know that this is true.  Nutritional Cleansing and Replenishing has been wildly successful for my family and literally thousands of people I have met over the course of the last four years.  If you decide Nutritional Cleansing is not something you “want” to do, I can accept this assertion.  I would assert in response, however, that the vast majority of you remain without excuse for your condition.  There are solutions out there.  If you want to try what has worked for my family, Tamara and I would love to tell you more.  You can call us at 1-866-982-3438 or you can reach us through our web-site at

Napoleon Hill Would Have Been an Isagenix® Associate!

Monday, January 24th, 2011

I am a seeker of knowledge and subsequently a book reader.  There are certain books that I have come across during my lifetime that I return to every several years to remind myself of their valuable content.  Some of these bookstgr Napoleon Hill Would Have Been an Isagenix® Associate! include How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie; and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen R. Covey.  I am currently in the process of re-reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.  I have the original 1937 version of the book and despite its age it remains relevant today.

The book speaks to me on many levels and I suggest it would do the same for anyone reading this post.  The book is as much about building great wealth as it is about building great character.  I believe that the two concepts are intertwined.  Two chapters in the books seem to specifically address the desires of anyone wishing to achieve great success in network marketing.  The first is the chapter titled “Decision”.  The second is the next chapter named “Persistence”.  I find both of these chapters especially applicable to the potential of an MLM business so I will summarize some of the topics discussed here.

cheerleader Napoleon Hill Would Have Been an Isagenix® Associate! Many people give up on their own potential right when they are about to achieve amazing success simply because they listen to the wrong people.  According to Napoleon Hill, “The majority of people who fail to accumulate money sufficient for their needs, are generally, easily influenced by the ‘opinions’ of others.”  Everyone reading this post needs to understand that the greatest potential cheerleader you know is yourself.  It is rare for anyone to have a greater interest in your success than you.  Now I used the word “potential” because we can also be our greatest critics.  Ultimately, our success must be influenced by an internal desire as opposed to an external source of promotion

Once we come to the conclusion that we wish to experience great success regardless of the opinions and desires of anyone else, we must remain vigilant in our efforts.  We must be decisive about that which we want to achieve without reservation or hesitation.  According to Napoleon Hill, “Those who reach decisions promptly and definitely know what they want, and generally get it.”  Being sure of yourself and moving forward with that confidence in place is not always easy.  In fact, it usually requires a great deal of courage because the rest of the world can be working against you.  You must believe however, that with persistence comes great success.  As long as you continue to move forward you will eventually succeed.  There are many elements of persistency which need to be considered.

  • Definiteness of purposewill power Napoleon Hill Would Have Been an Isagenix® Associate!
  • Desire
  • Self-Reliance
  • Definiteness of Plans
  • Accurate Knowledge
  • Co-Operation

The implementation of these practices will increase the likelihood of success in your Isagenix® business and give you the confidence you need to build a strong line.

“So How do I Talk to Someone About…Isagenix?”

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

Whenever Tamara and I introduce someone to Isagenix® we always tell them about the wonderful financial opportunities that come with that association.  Many times we get a negative response such as “I am not apassion “So How do I Talk to Someone About…Isagenix?” salesman”, or “I am just not good at talking with people”.  Interpersonal interaction is definitely a learned skill, but one that I believe comes naturally as you reach your own conclusions about the amazing promise of Isagenix® and the companies many fantastic products such as the Isagenix® IsaLean® meal replacement shake, or the Isagenix® Ionix® Supreme dietary supplement.  When you realize how much the programs and products have helped you improve your own life, you will have a tendency to want to tell others about it.  In the end you cannot “sell” anything to anyone that you aren’t passionate about yourself.  You have to be a “believer”.

Tamara and I have learned to have no fear when it comes to talking to people about Isagenix®.  We have learned, gatsby idea! “So How do I Talk to Someone About…Isagenix?”however, that we are ultimately not selling anyone on the Isagenix® product line or an Isagenix® program.  Rather, we are trying to cause a paradigm shift in their thinking.  We are trying to sell them on a new idea.  Furthermore, we never make that idea about us…because it isn’t.  It always has to be about how Isagenix® can help them…how it can forever improve their lives.

For example, I was in a service station recently to buy some Propane.  As I was paying I asked the clerk how her day was going.  She told me she was tired and had a very long day.  I responded in kind and she asked me what I had done.  I informed her of the work I had done with my fantastic at-home business and she asked me about it.  When I told her about Isagenix® she told me her daughter could really use my help.  She gave me her cell phone number and e-mail address without hesitation!  In the end I talked little about myself.  Instead the conversation focused on her daughter and how I could help her with her weight issues.

This type of interaction may be foreign to some of you.  I admit that 24 years in law enforcement has helped to hone my skills when it comes to striking up a conversation.   With that said, here are some suggestions for easing this process:

1.  Leave your Ego at the Door—No one wants to hear about you.  If you have never met a person before it is rare for them to have any interest in your life unless you are one incredibly interesting person (e.g. the Dos Equis guy).  Your conversation should not be about you but about how you can help this new friend or potential business partner.

2.  Don’t appear needy—Don’t look pathetic or appear as if your life is dependent upon this person buying Isagenix®man begging 300 “So How do I Talk to Someone About…Isagenix?” products and programs.  If you remain positive and make contacts throughout your day you will eventually find someone that needs your help or wants what you have.  Realize that the percentage of people that want what you have to offer is about 2 in 100.  Don’t get discouraged.  You will eventually find an eager customer.

3.  Tell Them Why Isagenix® is so Important to Them—People will offer many reasons why they “can’t”.  It is your job to present to them the reasons why Isagenix® is vital to their lives on several levels…because it is.  Have those arguments memorized for the inevitable challenges.

4.  Throw a curveball—Isagenix® by the nature of the company offers life changing experiences.  That can be scary for some.  If you find that your new friend is getting nervous, get off topic for a few moments, e.g. talk about your kids.  When they have relaxed begin your Isagenix® conversation again.

5.  Repeat Their Arguments—The purpose of this tactic is not to fortify or validate their concerns.  Instead it tells them that you are listening and that you are concerned about them.  Furthermore, it clarifies exactly what their concerns are so you can present appropriate positive arguments.

If you would like to find out more about Isagenix® or wish to discuss this specific topic further, then you can contact us either through our web-site at or by calling Tamara toll free at 1-866-982-DIET (3438).

Validation from Marilyn Vos Savant!

Friday, November 19th, 2010

In my last post I discussed the Kansas State University Professor who decided he was going to eat nothing but junk-food for 10 straight weeks.  The end result of his experiment was that he was able to lose weight by simply counting all the calories in the junk he ate.  You can congratulate him on his success if you wish; however, I still contend that if he continued with that diet his quality of life would rapidly deteriorate.  I believe he would be sick more often and would die earlier than he would if he had taken better care of himself.

In 1984 Jim Fixx the author of The Complete Book of Running, collapsed while jogging at the age of 52 and died.  There were jim fixx Validation from Marilyn Vos Savant!many who found amusement in this irony and claimed that it proved it didn’t matter how you lived, you were still going to die.  The dying part is an inevitability, the “when” is always less clear.  I believe greater clarity in this arena is achieved through better life decisions. You could argue that Mr. Fixx wasted his time by taking good care of himself; but, there are some important factors to consider.  First, Jim started running in the 1960’s when he weighed 220 pounds.  By 1977 he was running an average of 60 miles every week and his weight was down to 159 lbs.  “So what” you may say.  He was in great shape, treated his body well and still died young.  Why should we care?  Jim’s father died of a heart attack at the age of 43.  Jim may have died at an early age, but he suffered from hereditary heart problems.  His coronary arteries had blockages of 99%, 80% and 70% and his cholesterol level was above 250 mg/dl.  I wonder how long Jim Fixx would have lasted if he had remained obese and had never quickened his pace.    Parade Magazine Validation from Marilyn Vos Savant!

Later on the same day that I posted my last blog I was reading the Parade Magazine in my local paper as I am wont to do on a Sunday morning and noticed an article by Marilyn vos Savant.  The topic she addressed was amazingly similar to the one I had written about in my post (

There is a very good reason why there is a syndicated column called Ask Marilyn®.  Marilyn vos Savant is a very smart person who gives intelligent answers to hard questions.  What was the question at hand?  Does weight loss or gain depend solely on the number of calories you consume or is it more dependent upon the type of food you eat?  Her answer, I believe validates many of the ideas I have discussed with this blog.  Essentially, she asserted that “a calorie is a calorie, whether it comes from butter, sugar, or meat.”  In a later article she stated that you cannot gain more than a pound from eating a pound of food, regardless of what the food is (  However, she went on to explain that where the calorie comes from Marilyn Vos Savant Validation from Marilyn Vos Savant!influences the way our bodies function.  Some food takes longer to digest while others produce a faster rise in blood sugar.  If you make the right choices related to your health, nutrition and fitness then your body works the way God intended.

Harvard University researchers have predicted that within the next 40 years Americans will hit a 42% obesity rate (  I know I know…It seems that every time I sit down to write at my computer lately, I end up being the bearer of bad news.  Unfortunately, there is a lot of bad newsHarvard logo Friendships, Relationships and Weight Loss to report when it comes to the health and fitness of United States citizens.  I will make a note to write a more positive offering in my next post.  We still must address these recent findings.  In a past blog I noted that we, as Americans have become much more accepting of excessive weight and obesity simply because it has become so prevalent.  It is infinitely more difficult to critique someone else’s problems when you share that same problem.  As my favorite book so profoundly states, “”Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”  Too many people are carrying around that plank.

I attend various Bible studies and church groups throughout the year.  I do this to accomplish several ends.  First, I am an information junkie.  I never want to be caught with my pants down unable to address a challenge or question; especially when it comes to questions of my faith.  I know I will never know it all; however, the more information I have the better position I am in to defend that which is most important to me; the health of my family and friends fall into a similar category.

The second reason I find myself at church so often is due to a desire for full accountability.  I do not mean that I wish to Obesity Friendships, Relationships and Weight Losshold others accountable; rather, I wish to surround myself with people who will hold me accountable and let me know when I am not living the life I wish for…a life of character and strength.  So what does this all have to do with effective weight loss, effective weight control and fitness?  The very first line of the article states, “Americans will keep growing fatter until 42% of the nation is considered obese, and having fat friends is part of the problem…”

Essentially, the researchers determined that your friends are a reflection of you and visa versa.  If you hang out with people that drink too much then you need to ask yourself if you drink too much as well.  Likewise, if your friends are obese then eating may become an issue in your life.  Maybe it is already.  It is very hard, if not impossible for an alcoholic to stay clear of his/her demon if all their friends meet at a bar.  The same is true for you if you have difficulties with your weight and all of your friends meet at the desert bar.

Because our national weight problem is getting worse, things will become exponentially more difficult for people with weight challenges.  There are fewer people out there that take their weight seriously, so the relational support systems are disappearing.  The study showed that “…an American adult has a 2% chance of becoming obese in any given year, and each obese social contact increases the risk of becoming obese by .5% per year.

So what is the solution?  The first step is to find a weight loss and fitness program that you can do like Isagenix®.  The 30-Day Cleansing and Fat Burning System or the 9-Day Cleansing and Fat Burning System may be thethe biggest loser Friendships, Relationships and Weight Loss path to a thinner you.  It certainly was for Tamara and me.  However, if your friends and family are constantly challenging your efforts by offering you candy, chips and soda then that path will be filled with landmines that may undermine your success.

Therefore, the second step is to make a choice.  Either extricate yourself from that social circle (this is very difficult I know), or decide to be the example.  Tell your friends or family that you are seeking their support or organize a “Biggest Loser” contest.  See Tamara’s Biggest Loser story here…
