Validation from Marilyn Vos Savant!

Friday, November 19th, 2010

In my last post I discussed the Kansas State University Professor who decided he was going to eat nothing but junk-food for 10 straight weeks.  The end result of his experiment was that he was able to lose weight by simply counting all the calories in the junk he ate.  You can congratulate him on his success if you wish; however, I still contend that if he continued with that diet his quality of life would rapidly deteriorate.  I believe he would be sick more often and would die earlier than he would if he had taken better care of himself.

In 1984 Jim Fixx the author of The Complete Book of Running, collapsed while jogging at the age of 52 and died.  There were jim fixx Validation from Marilyn Vos Savant!many who found amusement in this irony and claimed that it proved it didn’t matter how you lived, you were still going to die.  The dying part is an inevitability, the “when” is always less clear.  I believe greater clarity in this arena is achieved through better life decisions. You could argue that Mr. Fixx wasted his time by taking good care of himself; but, there are some important factors to consider.  First, Jim started running in the 1960’s when he weighed 220 pounds.  By 1977 he was running an average of 60 miles every week and his weight was down to 159 lbs.  “So what” you may say.  He was in great shape, treated his body well and still died young.  Why should we care?  Jim’s father died of a heart attack at the age of 43.  Jim may have died at an early age, but he suffered from hereditary heart problems.  His coronary arteries had blockages of 99%, 80% and 70% and his cholesterol level was above 250 mg/dl.  I wonder how long Jim Fixx would have lasted if he had remained obese and had never quickened his pace.    Parade Magazine Validation from Marilyn Vos Savant!

Later on the same day that I posted my last blog I was reading the Parade Magazine in my local paper as I am wont to do on a Sunday morning and noticed an article by Marilyn vos Savant.  The topic she addressed was amazingly similar to the one I had written about in my post (http://www.parade.com/askmarilyn/2010/11/Sundays-Column-11-14-10.html).

There is a very good reason why there is a syndicated column called Ask Marilyn®.  Marilyn vos Savant is a very smart person who gives intelligent answers to hard questions.  What was the question at hand?  Does weight loss or gain depend solely on the number of calories you consume or is it more dependent upon the type of food you eat?  Her answer, I believe validates many of the ideas I have discussed with this blog.  Essentially, she asserted that “a calorie is a calorie, whether it comes from butter, sugar, or meat.”  In a later article she stated that you cannot gain more than a pound from eating a pound of food, regardless of what the food is (http://www.parade.com/askmarilyn/2010/11/Eat-One-Pound-Gain-Five-Pounds-16.html).  However, she went on to explain that where the calorie comes from Marilyn Vos Savant Validation from Marilyn Vos Savant!influences the way our bodies function.  Some food takes longer to digest while others produce a faster rise in blood sugar.  If you make the right choices related to your health, nutrition and fitness then your body works the way God intended.

My Vision Board

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

Sitting next to me on the table as I write this post is my vision board.  For those that don’t know what this is, a vision board is a written and/or pictorial depiction of the goals and dreams a person has for their life.  It is difficult to realize goals if you cannot visualize them.  A vision board gives those ideas and dreams substance.  I take it wherever I go and it is never far from my reach.

dream a z My Vision BoardWhen I created my vision board I made a conscious effort to not over-think it.  I simply asked myself what was important to me.  After it was done and laminated to preserve it I made a surprising observation.  All of my hopes and dreams are intimately tied in one way or another to my association with Isagenix® International.  It is important to understand that that I am not dependent upon Isagenix® to attain my goals, but it is apparent that based upon the images on the sheet that it has had a significant impact on my life.  There are six different categories represented on my vision board:

  • Physical Fitness—This one is simple.  I want to remain physically fit and healthy because I want to live a long time with a high quality of life.  I want to be there for my kids and even my grand kids.  Isagenix® products to include the Isagenix® Total Health and Wellness Program facilitate and complement my healthy lifestyle.
  • Healthy/Happy Family—With the knowledge of what Isagenix® has done, is doing, and will continue to do for me in the future, I want the same benefits for my family.  As a result my whole family is using Isagenix products such as theIsagenix® IsaLean® Shake, Ageless Essentials™ Daily Pak and the IsaKids® Essentials.  I feel good that my family is getting some of the best nutrition available.
  • Isagenix® Success—In regards to both our health and our financial freedom, this dream is being realized every day.  The network marketing opportunities are amazing and are opening doors that were previously closed to us.
  • Summer Homes—We have talked about purchasing a summer home in Wisconsin’s Door County for years.  Isagenix® is bringing us closer to this dream every day.
  • Vacations—Whether it be the events sponsored by Isagenix® such as Celebration in San Diego this year, orFamily vacation My Vision Board the many trips we take that are paid for by this wonderful business opportunity, Isagenix® has made this dream come true.
  • Glorify God in All That I DoIsagenix® is the means by which our successes are realized, but it is God that has presented this opportunity to us.  Tamara likes to say that she is “spreading the gospel of Isagenix®” since she believes this is the means by which she can help others.  She sees Isagenix® as her calling, and I am beginning to understand this feeling as I am helping more and more people as well.

What do you want out of life?  Maybe Isagenix® is the means by which your goals and dreams are realized.  If you would like to find out more about this wonderful company and these amazing products then you can visit our website at http://www.cleansebenefits.com or by calling toll free 1-866-982-DIET (3438).

Never Give Up!

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

the apostle paul in the storm 721x1024 Never Give Up!This past Sunday my pastor gave a sermon based upon Acts 27.  In this chapter of the Bible, Paul the Disciple is a prisoner on a ship facing a major storm.  The storm went on for days with no sign of relief.  The crew threw cargo overboard to include the tackle they would need to catch food just to lighten the load and make survival more likely.  In the end, the crew gave up all hope and assumed that disaster and death was inevitable.  Despite these circumstances Paul, our prisoner, continued to maintain high spirits.  Furthermore, he attempted to raise the spirits of the others on board the ship.  He told them to have courage and that they would survive despite major hardship in their near future.

What does this have to do with improving health and shedding unwantedoverweight 332420 Never Give Up! pounds?  Many people faced with the prospect of losing weight have already been there and done that.  They have seen the future…and it isn’t pretty.  Many have given up all hope and assumed they lack the willpower or strength to reach their fitness goals based upon past experience with other programs.  They have fought the battles and despite some minor victories ended up losing the war with their weight.  Even when they are offered a lifeboat they assume that they will still drown in their poor health.

9 Day 1024x641 Never Give Up!My message today is to keep your spirits high.  If all other health, wellness and weight loss programs have failed you Isagenix may be your answer.  It certainly was the answer for me and my wife.  Do not despair and do not give up hope.  You have the capacity to join the ranks of people who have experienced great success with an Isagenix 9-Day Cleansing and Fat Burning System, a 30-Day Cleansing and Fat Burning System, or an Isagenix Total Health and Wellness SystemIsagenix offers a program that conforms to your lifestyle, weight loss goals and fitness needs.

Just because you have failed to be successful with other programs, or back-slid in the past, this does not mean that Isagenix can’t help you.  With all my heart, I believe it can!!  Thomas Edison was once asked about his repeated failures when he was working on his light bulb filament idea.  Undeterred, Edison responded that he had not failed.  Rather, Edison stated, “We now know a thousand ways not to build a light bulb”.  You may have discovered many ways to not improve your health and change your life.  Now it is time to discover how to make it work with Isagenix!  Remember…to get something you never had, you have to do something you never did!

A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Ad Pics1 150x150 A Picture Speaks a Thousand WordsAs I look at my pictures, I am amazed at the transformation I’ve experienced using the Isagenix Cleansing and Fat Burning Systems. Even my doctor can not believe the difference.

I am a 47 year old mother of two children, ages 9 and 13. During both of my pregnancies, I gained a significant amount of weight that I found impossible to release. I exercised regularly, but obtained little or no results for my efforts. Then a friend told me about Isagenix. Desperate to lose weight for an upcoming class reunion, I decided to give it a try. I began Isagenix’s 9 Day System and before long I began to look and feel better. This made it easy for me to stay motivated. After five months following the 30 Day System, I reached my weight loss goal. I am now able to maintain my goal weight and feel great by following Isagenix’s Total Health & Wellness Program. To date, I’ve released 65 pounds, 71 inches, and over 20 percent body fat. I’ve dropped from a Size 12 to a Size 0. Even better than the weight loss is the way I feel. I have more energy than I can remember; I sleep better at night; and my cravings for unhealthy foods are gone. I feel and look like I’m 20 years younger.

As if this wasn’t enough, Isagenixis also changed my life financially. By sharing my experience with others, I have been able to generate a substantial income for my family.  Click below to read my financial success story.

Isagenix has truly been a blessing in my life!
